CHAPTER MEETING

Speaker: Rui Goncalves,
A financial crimes investigator for the Florida Office of Financial Regulation.

Topic: Mortgage Fraud

BIO: Rui received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics, from the University of Massachusetts at Boston.

Rui worked for seven years in the Boston area, first as a Mutual Fund Accountant and then as a Mutual Fund Compliance Analyst.

Since 2004, Rui has been working for the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, first as a Financial Examiner/ Analyst with the Bureau of Financial

Regulations and then as a Criminal Investigator with the Bureau of Financial Investigations.

As an Investigator, Rui conducts financial investigations into allegations of criminal, fraudulent or unlicensed activity within the regulatory jurisdiction of the Office of
Financial Regulation.

Since 2009, Rui has also been working as a Task Force Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation as part of its Mortgage Fraud Task Force.

Continuing Professional Education:
Members can attend monthly evening meetings that will usually have a speaker and topic that will be equivalent to one hour of CPE.
Certificates will be provided at the conclusion of the meeting.

Meeting Schedule and Location
The Central Florida ACFE meetings will be held at 6:00pm on the second Tuesday of the months
of September, November, January, March and May at the offices of Averett Warmus Durkee Osburn Henning.
